Captain Martin Longoria
Captain Martin A. Longoria is a native of Alice, TX. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Corpus Christi State University in 1992 and earned another degree from Park University in Sociology December 2002. Following graduation, CPT Longoria enlisted in the Regular Army in May of 1993 and was to assigned to 5/3 ADA Wackerhiem Germany from August 1993 to July 1997 serving as the Battalions Schools NCO, Battle Captain and ADA Scout Section Sergeant; Assigned from July 1997 to December 2000 to 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade Fort Bliss, Texas serving as the Brigade S3 Operations Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant, Land and Ammo NCO, Schools NCO, and Master fitness Advisor. Assigned from January 2000 to December 2002 to 2/6 Air Defense Artillery Battalion Fort Bliss, Texas as an Instructor Writer for Advance Individual Training, Basic Warrant Officer Course, Officer Basic Course and Captains Career Course; CPT Longoria was reinstated in February 2002 as a 2LT and assigned to 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment 1st Squadron ADA Battery Fort Polk, Louisianan were he served as a Avenger Platoon leader and Executive Officer from April 2002 to August 2003; CPT Longoria was re-assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company 2nd ACR Baghdad, Iraq were he served as the Executive Officer from September 2003 to August 2004. CPT Longoria was selected to attend the Air Defense Artillery Captains Career Course Fort Bliss, Texas from December 2004 to May 2005. After completion of the Captains Career Course CPT Longoria was assigned to 1st Cavalry Division Fort Hood, Texas from May 2005 to December 2007 were he served as the Division Deputy Air and Missile Defense OIC, G3 Plans Officer and Vulnerability Assessment Force Protection Officer. CPT Longoria is currently assigned to Texas A&M International University Laredo, Texas where he serves as the Assistant Professor of Military Science.
CPT Longoria’s military education includes ADA Captains Career Course, Unit Movement Deployment Planners Course, Total Army Instructors Training Course, MAJIC Course, CI Force Protection Course, Ground Safety Management Course, Officer Basic Course, Combatives level 1 and 2 course.
CPT Longoria’s awards include Bronze Star medal 2nd award, Purple Heart Medal, ARCOM medal 4th Award, Army Achievement Medal 5th Award, Army Good conduct Medal 3rd Award, National Defense Medal 2nd award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, NCO Professional Developmental ribbon numeral 2, Armed forces service ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon numeral 4, NATO Medal, Driver and Mechanic, Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Award.
